Omsk Region became first branded region in Siberia.

Today final results of Omsk Region branding project were announced officially by regional Minister of Economy Igor Muraev and regional Agency for Advertising and Trade Shows Director Elena Chentyreva. Project that lasted for more than 7 months became one of the most remarkable place branding projects in Russia. Contract was won by International Press Club lead by well-known PR expert professor Alexander Chumikov. He created a consortium to implement the project and invited Stas Marketing to join the team.

Stas Marketing’s role was to conduct comprehensive analysis of regional economy, formulate brand platform and develop 5-year term program to support regional brand with initiatives in economic, social and cultural areas. Stas Marketing offered region brand positioning based on Omsk geo location, its history and highly adoptive economy.

Brand essence “open platform for uncovering Eurasia opportunities” is targeted to position region as economic, cultural, education, sciences and sport hub connecting Europe with Central Asia as well as Asia Pacific region. Brand strategy that was titled as 100 Ideas How to Make Omsk Region Better was presented by Stas Marketing Group Managing Partner Andrei Stas in late June and got positive feedback both from Omsk authority and community. It consists of 100 project initiatives to support brand positioning in upcoming 5 years.

Final stage of the project was concerned about regional brand identity that was developed by another member of consortium Stanislav Ivanchenko, design expert with Omsk origin. His idea to use region border line as basis for logo was accepted by Omsk Government and became new symbol of this Siberian region together with tagline “Open Siberia”.
